This app is a companion app which should be installed on the phone and it will facilitate the start of Android Auto in wireless mode for those users who use Headunit Reloaded or AAGateWay.

This app CANNOT be used to gain Wireless Android Auto connection to different cars and head units, it is only to be used with the above mentioned apps.

For Android 10 and above users please make sure you allow access to location all the time, otherwise app will not be able to detected Wifi networks from the background.

Also Android 10 users you will need to grant DRAW OVER OTHER apps permission, without the permission app can't start Android Auto from the background.

Version 2 on 01.28.2020

Stable

3.3 MB

- Changed the exit procedure (when BT is disconnected)
- Renamed app to avoid confusion

Three stars because initialising connection is not always flawless, sometimes it takes a couple of restarts before it gets going. Once it is connected however the connection is stable and works great

Worked for me, not perfect but a really cool app set! This is what worked for me: Master: t-mobile oneplus 6t running android 9 - disable parallel apps user via adb - disable battery optimization for Android auto - install wifi launcher and select my car's bt Slave (old phone): rooted Moto G3 (2015) running resurrection remix android 7.1.2 - installed AAGateway, as system app as described in main thread - plugged slave via USB into my car When I start my car, bluetooth connects on master, automatically launches wireless gateway, and wirelessly Android auto starts! Does not work perfectly every time, but very cool idea and app none the less! Haven't noticed much lag, if I move the master while it's connected every once in a while I get a small connection stutter (I.e. Music skips for a second) but that's it during normal operation.
